The sermon notes

Title of the sermon : Knowing God is a Key to an Unshakable Relationship with Him

Scriptures: all from NKJV

Jeremiah 9:23-24

Knowing God is not a one time experience. It's a series of personal encounters with him throughout our daily lives.

John 17:3

That we may know Him is one of our greatest purpose as believers. Him which includes his very characters:

Exodus 6:7 "....Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God..."
Exodus 7:17 "....By this you shall know that I am the Lord."
Exodus 10:2 "....that you may know that I am the Lord."
Exodus 3:14"...I AM WHO I AM"
Exodus 15:3  The Lord is a man of war...
Exodus 16:15 "...The Lord Is My Banner..."
Exodus 31:13 ... the Lord who sanctifies...
Exodus 34:14... the Lord is a jealous God...

These verses gives us a picture of God revealing Himself (His characters, attributes) to His people Israel throughout their long journey. In their exodus to be established as people of God to bear His name and that they will become a blessing to other nations, they experienced these personal encounters and revelations of who God is. Thus, they became eyewitnesses, not only hearers of the attributes of their God.

As people of God, it is also must be our experience to become effective witnesses. We cannot testify of what we heard but of what we have personally seen and experience.

It  is vital that we have these revelations of God to the extent of what He allows us to know about Him. ( Remember of what God has done in your lives)

The Lord is working to have a people who cannot be shaken because they are rooted in Who God is.

Mathew 7:7-8
His words now become alive in us.

Also His very nature is being built in us. In our own journey, we become men of prayer, seekers, become knockers ( persistent faith).

We are knowing and understanding His ways.

Mathew 7:21-23
One of many lessons from this:
NO RELATIONSHIP!

Psalms 20:7( other translations says we " trust "in the name of our Lord)

What we have known of our God, His nature, His character- is where we put our faith and trust as we go out and become witnesses of our God.

Romans 15:18
For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient—

I believe in this verse, the Apostle is saying to us we have to become witnesses first before we will go and be witnesses so that we have the truth in us to declare and testify.
